Celebrate! It’s Book Launch Day!

Ah… sending another book out into the world. It’s as exciting as it is terrifying! But, here we go anyway! 🙂 I’m thrilled to get to share Teagan’s story with you. It was an absolute thrill to write, and I have to admit that I was careful with her story.

I almost wrote Laken’s story first, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that Teagan needed to find her HEA before Laken. There is something significant in the quiet twin being able to step out of the loud twin’s shadow and find her soulmate despite the other still being available. So, even though most people won’t think a thing of it, it was important to me that Teagan take the lead.

And take the lead she did. I ADORE Teagan’s significant other. He is exactly my type of guy. Sincere, hardworking and very sweet. *imagine little happy dance here* So, without any more teasing and holding back, I present to you, “HER BILLIONAIRE GARDENER”.  Enjoy!

Teagan found her dream man… Unfortunately, her sister found him first.

5 Days Until Summer!

Well, not technically, but the kids will be home and that makes it feel like summer, right? We’ve got a summer full of family reunions and church camps ahead, so I’ll have lots to share with you as the time progresses. 🙂

Like, right now! As we speak, I’m on a field trip with my twins, visiting a museum about Christian missionaries from back in the 1840’s whose whole party was massacred by a group of Native Americans. Sounds fun, huh? I’ve been here a few times and it’s actually a fascinating, but sadly tragic tale. The best thing about the museum is the full size stagecoach with like 6 horses in front. It’s massive! The kids always love that part of the exhibit. (So do I to tell the truth.)

However, I promised you all a giveaway winner today, so on from the history lesson and onto today’s winner! Thank you so much to everyone who answered my question! I couldn’t keep up with the sheer number of you who responded, it was wonderful! So if you didn’t get a response from me, it’s just because there were so many people and so little time. 🙂

Just in case you’re curious, the vast majority of you said that you will read either type of series, but prefer Option #1, where the characters are connected in some way. Thanks for sharing that with me! I also like my characters connected, it makes me feel like the stories last longer and I get to know the people more. 🙂

And now… onto the winner!  *drum roll please*

Sherri Colbridge!!

Sherri, you have won an ebook boxset! If you’ll respond to this email, we’ll get your prize taken care of. 🙂 Congratulations!

As for those who didn’t win? Don’t worry. We’ll have more giveaways coming up.

On a side note, I won’t have a giveaway next week, but I will have a new book! Teagan’s story, “Her Billionaire Gardener” will be available next Monday! Woot! I’m thrilled with the chance to share it with you soon. So be sure to keep an eye out for next Monday’s email!

And to tide you over until Teagan’s story releases… I have several new books for your this week! They look really cute and I hope you find something you love. Take a look!

A thousand dreams sparked through her, memories of late nights and sweet whispers when they’d dreamed of their future together. A family where he was Dad, and she would be Mom. But it hadn’t happened.

Only 2 Weeks left of school!!!

How are you feeling about that? I’ve heard some areas are already getting out, but because of snow days, my kiddos are in until June 14th. I have to admit to having mixed feelings of them being home. Now, don’t get me wrong. I homeschooled for 3 years, so I know what’s it’s like to have them underfoot 24/7. What I struggle with during the summer is keeping them busy.

I’m a huge outdoor mom. I kick my kids out of the house ALL THE TIME! I think they need down time, they need time to play and use their imaginations, but… I have a couple of kids that when they get bored… they get destructive. *sigh* Sometimes they remind me of puppies. If you don’t keep them busy, they chew up everything.

However, I love the flexibility of summer and giving my kids a break from the crazy hectic schedule of school. Why is there never any good middle ground? 🙂 Ha, whining is super attractive, right? Okay, enough of that. For the giveaway this month, I thought I’d hand out a little Summer Sanity Saver. (if you don’t have kids coming home for the summer, it can be a Save Me from the Summer Heat prize) 😉

Okay, the usual rules apply! Respond to this email, answer my question and next week’s winner will get a FREE Boxset! (if you have the books in the boxset, we can totally talk about another ebook)

This month’s question:
When reading a series, do you prefer

1) a series where the characters are related somehow through the series (such as the siblings in my billionaire books or all the teachers who work together in Middleton Prep)

2) a series based off a specific trope rather than the people. (an example of this would be Elana Johnson’s “Stranded in Paradise” series. Every book involves a couple getting stranded on an island, but the characters from book to book have nothing to do with each other)

That’s it! Do you prefer 1 or 2? Or do you like both? Maybe it doesn’t matter to you as long as the book is enjoyable? Hit reply, let me know your thoughts and you will be entered! Meanwhile, take a look at this week’s new releases, they look fantastic! 🙂

A Memorial Day to Remember

Happy Memorial Day! (At least for those in the United States!) The last Monday of May, we celebrate those who have lost their lives in defense of our country. Group dinners and “National Anthems” abound. It’s often a great day full of fun and sun.

First of all, let me start by saying a huge THANK YOU to any of you who are active or retired military of any kind. Or those who support those who have been in our military. Either one is a tough job but so necessary and we are so grateful for you!

Several members of my family have served, but none in recent years. My grandfather was active during WWII. He was drafted into the Army and served on the railroad. My husband’s grandfather also served during that same war and served as an administrative assistant. My father-in-law was in the coast guard for several years and served during the Vietnam era.

Their histories are amazing! And I am so grateful for all they did and all the others did/do as well. So, for those who can, kick back with a root beer and a good book and savor the fact that we can do so. And! I can’t offer you a soda, but I can help with the good book! 😉 I’ve got some fun new releases for you below. Take a peek and tell me what you think!

Claudia Cummings will do anything to keep her family’s plantation from falling into her greedy cousin’s hands – even going as far as accepting a business arrangement – a marriage in name only. However, she must make her family and friends believe she and Blake are happily married. Now the trick is trying to stop her heart from getting involved.

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend! 🙂 Mine was rainy and cold. Ah… the joys of living in the Pacific Northwest. We went on a little trip this weekend with my twin’s marimba group. They travel and play at elementary schools and then have fun at Silverwood Theme Park, which is a small amusement park just outside Hayden, Idaho. On Friday, while we were traveling it was pouring all day. Needless to say, us parents were gritting our teeth at the thought of walking around Silverwood in that type of weather. Luckily, Mother Nature had a bit of mercy on us. It drizzled and was cold on Saturday, but not enough to shut down the rides or stop people from having a good time. There was one fantastic hour of sun in the afternoon and people kept stopping in the patches of light, trying to soak up the heat. 🙂

So! I told you last week that I would share how I am similar to Hazel. To any of you who have not read Nelson’s story, “Her Fake Billionaire Boyfriend”, I apologize for any spoilers this may contain. The biggest thing Hazel and I share are being introverts. The biggest difference? I’m not shy or scared of things. Most people cannot tell that I am a total introvert. I like space. I like being by myself. Large crowds drain me of energy like a leaky bucket. But I am not scared of people, or of trying new things, or even of being in front of crowds. As a professional singer, I have sung in front of thousands of people and been absolutely fine. However, I am on stage and the crowd is a distance away, so I don’t feel as claustrophobic in those situations.

I also tend to stumble over my words in public. I’ve been told that sometimes I come across as cold or aloof, because a lot of times I sit back and don’t talk. (I promise I’m not a snob, just content to listen and not speak) I also HATE confrontation. Absolutely hate it. I often will let people walk all over me rather than stand up for myself. Now, since becoming a mother, that has changed a bit. I stand up for my kids fairly well and even my husband if necessary, but for myself? Nope. I’m a total pushover.

Anyway, I took those parts of myself and created Hazel! But I needed her to be a little more than just quiet, which is why I added her fears and anxieties as well.

Oh! And that slip’n’slide she talks about? Yeah. We totally do that, only it’s a 100 foot tarp and my husband custom built a PVC sprinkler system for it so the kids could slide the whole thing. Our whole neighborhood loves it. 🙂 (and when they come over, you can find me under the deck, where it’s cool and fairly quiet and I’m not in the middle of the chaos)

There you go! More tidbits about myself that are of no use to you whatsoever, but you know anyway! 😀 And now, onto the books I have for you this week. I hope you find something you LOVE!
