Let the School Schedule Begin!

School week has finally arrived! Tomorrow morning I will officially have a high schooler (yikes!) a middle schooler, and 3 elementary schoolers. Whew! This is our first time on a 3 school schedule and I’m just a tad nervous about how it will all work out. I’m sure we’ll make it work, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a bit of fumbling around first. 🙂

These next few years will bring big changes in my household. Now that I have one in high school, we get to start entering the driving years, Friday night football games, and school dances! Crazy! I don’t feel like I should be this old yet, but… I am! In fact, I just got invited to a Facebook group for my 20 year high school reunion, which is next summer. Yep. I graduated at the turn of the century in the big year 2000. Which actually was a little bit of a let down because all of our shirts and stuff say ’00 on the back. Kind of makes it look like we didn’t graduate at all. lol.

So wish me luck this week as we get our next big adventure started!

Now, onto a more book-related note. I am finishing up the revision of book #3 in the Middleton Prep series. Book #1 and #2 are already done and out. “The Librarian and Her Beast ended up with the most revisions. I kept the story line mostly intact, but actually rewrote the entire thing in order to make it all flow better. “Ms. Cinder’s Prince” ended up being more of a typo style revision, although I did shift a few of the scenes to make them a little more believable. Book #3, “Waking Ms. Briar” is requiring less story change and mostly just typo work. (which is good because rewriting an already written story is harder than I thought!) But the reason I’m announcing all this is because next week I’ll be putting out the first box set again. Right now, only the single books have the revised copies in them. When I put out the boxset, it will be on sale for the first while. You’ll get 3 books for the price of 1! So, I’ll be sure to send you the link in next week’s email. And after that, there will be more box sets to follow. In the end, I will have a full box set of the entire series, which will be priced at $9.99 for all the books. 10 books for $10 isn’t too bad! 🙂

Anyway, I just wanted to give you a heads up on how that was going. 🙂  And now! Onto this week’s new releases! Lots of fun stories are coming out, just as many of us have a little more time to ourselves with school starting. Take a look!

A sweet contemporary romance about growing up and finding love again

Lydia Howell never had time for romance, because she practically raised her five younger siblings after her mother died. When her father remarries, she decides her only chance for love might be responding to a mail-order bride advertisement in the Rocky Mountains. But upon arriving, she learns her intended has died, only survived by his handsome and broody brother.

I SURVIVED!

Last week we had a family reunion in the mountains. Farragut State Park to be exact. It’s in northern Idaho, for those who haven’t heard of it. I spent 5 days in the woods sleeping in a tent with no running water and no flushing toilet. And worst of all… (cue the horror music)… no WIFI! 😉

Can I just say how glorious it was? Now don’t get me wrong, I actually prefer my bathrooms to have plumbing, but it was lovely to unhook for awhile. The kids ran rampant, ate more bugs and dirt than is probably healthy, we made fools of ourselves doing family skits, and all those other wonderful things that come along with a long camping trip. I’m actually a bit concerned I’ll never get the smell of smoke out of our clothes.

Normally, I tend to be a bit of an overachiever, so my mind is constantly on work. Can I squeeze in a few more words today? Should I take my computer to the doctor’s office? I didn’t get in as many as I wanted yesterday, can I do extra today? *sigh* I don’t usually do things part way, which means I’m a great worker, but it also means I struggle to unwind and let go. Sometimes I literally have to tell myself that life will go on if I don’t get “such’n’such” done today. Because it will! I know it will! But sometimes I have a hard time remembering that. So it was wonderful to set down my computer, not touch it for 5 days and just… be. Just close my eyes and breath in the pine. Quit worrying that my word count was falling behind. Let the sun warm my cheeks and the lake chill my toes and let it go.

We all need a break like that once in awhile, don’t we? And now that I’ve had mine, it’s time to get back to real life and in my case, SCHOOL! I have 1 week to get the kids ready and it’s gonna be a doozy. Why is it that all my kids have to change sizes as the exact same time? Man, they have absolutely no respect for my pocket book! ;D Okay, okay, enough of my ramblings. I need to do one more thing before we move onto our book catalog today. I promised you a giveaway winner! I was so excited to read about your favorite season and why you loved it. Thank you so much for sharing it all with me! And now for the winner…

ROSIE HOSKINS!!

Rosie, you have won an e-book of your choice! Please respond to this email and we’ll get you taken care of. 🙂 And in case anyone was wondering, Rosie loves autumn. 🙂

And now! On to this week’s books! With school starting and many of us getting more time to ourselves, it’s the perfect time to pull out a sweet romance and let ourselves be swept away. 🙂 Enjoy!

After the tragic loss of her husband, Alexis Mathers packs up her clairvoyant, seven-year-old daughter and heads for home only to find that her grandmother, Evelyn Bozeman, has died in a mysterious accident. As Evelyn’s life was an enigma before her marriage into the Bozeman family, Alexis makes it her sole mission to understand who her grandmother was and the kind of life she left behind.

It’s Almost Here!

Are you as excited as I am? For me, there is something so wonderful about finishing a project. 🙂 I have ADORED the Truman family, but knowing that I have finished all of their stories just brings a sense of satisfaction that is hard to explain. There’s a sense of accomplishment, but there’s also a sense of contentment, knowing they are all together. They all have their happy endings. That each story has been told.

I don’t know, maybe I’m crazy. Maybe I’ve become one of those weird ladies with too many voices in her head, 😉 but I feel like the end should be celebrated as much as the beginning.

On that note, I’m thrilled to announce that next Monday, Laken’s story will be available. I have had fantastic feedback on this one. (Can I get a shout out for my BETA team?) Somehow, someway, Laken manages to redeem herself enough to make the story worthwhile and I’m so excited to share it with you. In fact, (here’s my brag moment for the year), my husband said he thought this was the best book I had written so far. Ha! Who doesn’t want to hear that?

So just 7 more days, my lovely, Reader Family. 7 days and we will bring this chapter to a close. I can’t wait for next week’s email to share that with you. 🙂

BUT! What are you going to do in the meantime? I mean, it’s not like we can go 7 whole days without reading, right? Right! So, as usual, I have some fun book offerings for you. Something to help the time fly and give you a bit of an escape this week.

Just a quick heads up! The book by Olivia Burke is definitely on the steamier side of clean. She does not have anything graphic on screen, but does have closed doors stuff that I know some of you will not be comfortable with. So please go into her book with that in mind. (That is not meant to be a knock on her as an author, just a statement to make you aware of the heat level)

Enjoy!

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire!

Christmas in July

Now that it’s heating up, let’s see if we can cool it down, hmm? Maybe a little Christmas in July talk will do the trick. I’ve finally got those giveaway winners I promised you! First of all, I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent me titles. They were so fun to go through. I even shared them with family and ended up having my husband help me pick the winners.

As we get to those titles, I thought I’d share just a little of the premise for my Christmas releases this year. 🙂 I’m going to write 5-6 short stories and you can probably guess that they will all contained mistletoe. (I mean really, who doesn’t love that tradition?) So… here’s the idea.

The series? It’s going to be called “It’s All About the Mistletoe”

The premise? We’re going a little different with a small town class reunion. Our group of girls are having their ten year reunion, but are all still single. In their town, rather than doing something in the summer, it’s customary to hold a Christmas Ball and these poor girls decide they simply can’t show up empty handed. (At least in the man department.)

With that in mind, here are my titles and the tropes I’ll be writing about:

Mistletoe Mayhem (fake fiance)
Mister Mistletoe (enemies to lovers)
Mistletoe Magic (falling for her best friend’s brother)
Mistletoe Mistake (a geek to chic romance)
Mistletoe Memories (second chance romance)
Mistletoe Maverick (opposites attract)

Aren’t those fun? I’m so excited to get started on them soon. Just so you know, I totally considered all the other titles that didn’t follow this pattern, but the more we went through things, the more my husband and I felt these worked the best. And, you should also know, that some of these were nominated by more than one person, so I have quite the list of winners.

If your name is mentioned below, remember, you can pick a book now, or wait and get a copy of the Christmas story when it releases, Just let me know your preference! And now, without further ado, here are my winners!

Some of you didn’t leave names, so I have email addresses instead. But, congrats! If you’re on that list will you please contact me so we can get you set up with your prize?

I’m so excited to get started on this, but it has to wait until I’ve finished rewriting those first 3 Middleton Prep stories. 🙂 I’m hoping to be done or close to done with “The Librarian and Her Beast” by the end of the week and then will dig into #2. Oh, and don’t forget that Laken’s story, “The Billionaire’s Best Friend” is releasing soon! I’ve had great responses from my Beta’s so far, so I’m hopeful you all will love it as well. 🙂

Until then… take a look at these great new releases below!

I left my beloved beach and came home to the desert. *sigh*

Every Fourth of July, my in-law family has a reunion and we often to the beach. And I know I’ve told you a dozen times how much of a beach girl I am. Almost every morning last week I ran along the sand listening to the waves and gulls. Mmmm…. it just soothes my soul! Sometimes I imagine I can feel my blood pressure dropping with each passing second. 😉

But, then reality hits and I come home to my flat and dry desert. I love my hometown. It’s not too big and we have warm summers and best of all… my OWN BED! But I always hate to leave the water behind. *sigh* I guess we just can’t have it all, huh? 🙂

What fun vacations have you taken this summer? I’d love to hear what you’re doing to break up the hot summer days.

Ah! But before I start to wax poetic about more vacations in our future, last week we had a giveaway! I hate to say it, but I don’t have the winners picked out yet. I received so many suggestions and they are wonderful! So between being out of town and the sheer number of entries, I’m still sorting through them. But I promise to have names next week.

I’ll admit I’m behind in more than just sorting titles. I just finished Laken’s story THIS MORNING! I was supposed to have it done a week ago and it just went to my Betas today. Which means I’ll be releasing July 29th rather than the 22nd. Geez. Summer just started and I’m already falling down on the job! 😀

To make up for my slow moving, I have some great books to show you this week. I’ve even got a little Christmas story for your hot July!  Take a look!
